DCIS

I had a mastectomy for DCIS. After the surgery I decided to have an implant. I now want to get my other breast augmented. My breast surgeon and medical oncologist think it is okay, as long as I have an MRI every six months. But my plastic surgeon believes breast augmentation will hinder detection of cancer and that I should not do it. What do you think?

I had radiation for DCIS that was estrogen receptor (ER)-positive. My doctor said that tamoxifen may reduce my risk of developing cancer in my other breast. My question is: Can I use ductal lavage to check the non-radiated breast? What about an MRI? What about mammograms at six-month intervals? Wouldn't that be as good as tamoxifen and have fewer side effects?
